they are backstabbing bastard i bought a microsoft office 07 key from digitalriver which on microsofts site is a partner. and had office 07 my hard drive that had it crashed. i try to reinstall it and the key dont work so i call microsoft for support so what do they claim that the are not affiliated and that the key is illegal so now im screwed out of office i think and i need for a variety of purposes. this happen to anyone else.

That's why you pirate the second time. I did a system restore on my computer and Office got borked. I just said fuck it and installed a pirated version. Works like a charm.

No need to rant. Worse comes to worse you use OpenOffice.

I dislike Microsoft for the main reason that they overcharge for their products. Open source is generally better.

Also, +1 to the 'you can't pirate FireFox' post; you're just using a FireFox mod.

If something's got a different name, it's never the pirated version of it, but a clone. (lol, nlintondlol)

As people have said before, why even buy software? The only thing I ever actually buy is my OS, and even then it's usually pre-installed on the computer or I get it for free thanks to my college. Oh, and some games if I want to play online. Other than that, though, why bother?

just grab the keygen that came with the enterprise editions

you can install every office update except the genuine advantage update (which black lists the key)

Good point. I actually bought Fallout 3 GOTY Edition because Bethesda actually deserved it.

I've used a windows 7 key, 4 times, and office 2007 key 9 times, you just have to know what to say when you call them.

My experience with DigitalRiver is that they're somewhat inflexible with their system, but it usually works. Microsoft Steal Deal to get a cheap copy of Windows 7, paid the extra for a DVD and unlimited digital download ticket, then just download and install. The first download didn't work, but the second one did (on the same day I got the DVD too).
