I don't get the Youtube conversion ._.

Turn the settings on Tube up to 720 then look, it's the exact same thing.

If you can output 1080 do it. No point in not giving the extra option.

If you ripped a Blu-ray 1:1 and then uploaded it to YouTube would it have the same quality? No. It would look similar-ish but never exactly the same.

YouTube compresses quality, and grainy videos get automatically DNR'd.

Every video I have up there when put into 1080 looks exactly as it does just watching the raw.

The Blu-ray 1:1 is impossible, Tube has file size limits.

You can upload 2160p videos (3840 x 2160) with ease, so long as you have a decent internet connection. Also, youtube does convert your video in multiple files when processing (refer back to my previous post), so you will never have a video EXACTLY the same as raw (don't be cocky and say "ohohoh but what about a blank image").

Weird, I never notice any sort of down scaling when I upload videos. Certainly not to a degree I actually NOTICE, anyway.

Maybe it has to do with the format of your video? Like size or somethin'. I always upload 1920x1080 and never seen any difference.

I did turn up the video to 720p and then took the snap and uploaded it. Both pic up are 720p, 1600x900 resolution.
And i'll try 1920x1080 to see if there's any difference.

Why would I get cocky? I hardly even care. Was just sharing my opinion. No one here cares about the file you download, and that's not what my opinion was regarding. If you are just looking for an argument look elsewhere.

They compress the quality down to make it easier for everyone to watch it and the YouTube 1080p never match the original quality.

I uploaded some DVD raw clips to YouTube and then they removed all the grain and made it look blocky.

I think most of your issues are stemming from the type of files you are using. I use MP4 and have no issues at all. My quality is never messed with.

YouTube's video quality is okay but it never really compares to the original source unless it's low quality too (240p).

Youtube actually converts the video into multiple different files/ file extensions, both for each resolution (360p, 480p, 720p, etc) and each device. So he may get more desirable results if he renders the video in a higher resolution.

Which also justifies rendering in higher qualities, such as 2160p (You know, the resolution above 1080p that used to come up as original quality).

Anything 720 or over gets you an MP4. So there would be a lot less involved starting with an MP4. You would think but, again, no one here cares about the file coming out.

Are you letting it fully finish before testing it? It takes a while even after it's finished uploading to iron things out.

That doesn't look that bad, but I have noo idea what the original vid looked like so meh.

Even in fullscreen i'm not seeing a terrible difference between that pic and the vid. Outside of fullscreen it looks perfectly fine imo. Especially for a game like that where your eyes aren't really focused on anything for long enough to notice bad quality.

When talking about video and audio, it is bad practice to talk about file extension. File extension tells nothing about the video and audio format.

MP4 alone means nothing. What video format are you using? ASP? H264? MPEG-2? What about audio? MP1? MP3? AAC? How about encoder used in video? x264? Xvid? NVENC?

File extension only lets you know the format of container file. Container file is basically a packaging. What's inside the package is a whole different story.
