I have cfw. It only happened recently while I was messing with the settings in retroarch like an idiot. I just make it shut down my system. one time I did save the crash dump but it then said if you press any button it will turn off and it did it. Affects me downloading updates I used to be able to do that and I can’t play any games on retroarch FBI and other installers work but I want updates I know I can manually do it but it’s too much workare you using homebrew? do you use a9lh or b9s? has it always been this way or just recently? what are you wanting to do when it crashes? it's hard to help without any details.
if it's a possible configuration problem, put your sd card in your pc, and search for aI have cfw. It only happened recently while I was messing with the settings in retroarch like an idiot. Can I just move it to a different location on my ds card like the root?if it's a possible configuration problem, put your sd card in your pc, and search for a
"retroarch.cfg" file. back it up somewhere on your computer, then delete it off the sd card. put the sd card back in your 3ds and see if that fixes anything. if it doesn't, let us know.

Whatever I did it, it was a bother and it didn't fix anything. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being rudeif it's a possible configuration problem, put your sd card in your pc, and search for a

Seeing that you used a video guide, I'd like to make sure you're on the latest CFW version. Is the Luma version 9.1? Also, did you ever create a NAND backup at any point using GodMode9? If you did and this seems to be affecting updating and such, it might be a safe idea to restore it. Shouldn't be too difficult.Whatever I did it, it was a bother and it didn't fix anything. I do have luma 9.1 but I don't know if I ever made a backup with godmode9 if I did were would it be?Seeing that you used a video guide, I'd like to make sure you're on the latest CFW version. Pretty sure it would be in either the /gm9/out/ or the /files9/ folder on the root of your SD. If you didn't make one when installing CFW, there's probably other ways to recover the ability to update your 3DS (such as Recovery Mode) but someone like @TurdPooCharger might be able to help you out mode.I do have luma 9.1 but I don't know if I ever made a backup with godmode9 if I did were would it be?

Also, to put it simply, this is why everyone tells people to avoid video guides. They tend to become outdated, are missing steps, have some sort of mistake in them that leads to a brick, etc.
Like I said, recovery mode might work. Turn it on while holding A+R+L+Up (dpad, not cpad).Didn't do it so what do I do now?
FateForWindows is helping you with your CFW. What problems are you having beyond your retroarch problems we talked about earlier? Is it just retroarch, is it anything CFW related besides games, or something else?Whatever I did it, it was a bother and it didn't fix anything. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being rude
Just retroarch I thought it was updates but I got that to workFateForWindows is helping you with your CFW. What problems are you having beyond your retroarch problems we talked about earlier? Is it just retroarch, is it anything CFW related besides games, or something else?
It didn’t work I have a new 2dsxlLike I said, recovery mode might work. Turn it on while holding A+R+L+Up (dpad, not cpad).
If it's just retroarch, then let's try to rule out a few things first. The file I asked you to move before was the configuration file, where all your settings are saved. Moving or removing the configuration file basically resets retroarch to default settings (it makes a new config file). Unless the 3ds version does something differently, having default settings and still having issues indicate it's most likely not to do with any settings you changed.Just retroarch I thought it was updates but I got that to work

The only other issue with settings I could find was from a post on reddit from January 15th that states:
go to your retroarch.cfg file, open it in notepad++ and change the audio_driver line to the following:
audio_driver = "xaudio"
then save and try it again in your 3ds. (source=https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroArch/comments/9udias/3ds_retroarch_cfg_problems/)
Hopefully that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't work, try deleting the entire Retroarch folder on the sd card's root and reinstalling 1.7.6. If that doesn't work, repeat with 1.7.5 or try 1.7.3.Okay I’ll try it thx

Stable. Nightlies won't change much at the moment due to how recent the stable came out.Nightly or Stable?
yesYou guys rang? What we got? Broken retroarch but everything else good?
Since Pokenev seemed to have not made a SysNAND *.bin image, I'm going to assume he didn't do his due diligence following the guide's finalizing setup.
Let's guess this. Do you have?
