Hi guys, I've been reading tons of tutorials about hacking the Wii u. So I'll try no to make any obvious questions.
. Can I use an external ssd for my backups?
. Wii usb helper looks gorgeous.. but if there is a Wii game not showing up (resident evil 4) does it allows me to convert an iso into a virtual game ?
. I'd rather not back the vwii, does nintendont works straight on the Wii u?
. As for the emulators I would like to use ( genesis, fba, mame 2003, gba) can they boot straight from Wii u menu and can I put the roms into the external hd?.
. And last but not least. I won't install anything in the Wii u internal hd. So I can get a white version or better a black version of the Wii u?
Thanks for your help.

I think that using SSD will be a waste of resources. Normal HDD will be enough (remember that wiiu does not have usb 3 port).

Hi :)
So to answer your questions:
1. A SSD is indeed a waste of resources, like @pivix has already stated
2. The USB Helper can't convert Wii games to WiiVC but there is another program that's also very easy to use that can do just that.
3. While there's no real reason not to hack your vWii, you can use Nintendont through WiiVC as well and have it run straight through the Wii U home menu, so no, there is no need to hack vWii either
4. Which emulators do you mean exactly? On the Wii U, you'd probably use RetroArch for all systems prior to N64 (not sure about MAME though) and I'm sure there's an installable channel for it floating around somewhere. You'd put the ROMs onto your SD card though. Remember that your external HDD will be formatted into the proprietary file system of the Wii U so won't be able to plug it into your PC and just copy files onto it anymore.
5. If you don't want to install anything onto the internal storage then a white Wii U is fine.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it.
. Is it possible to convert every Wii games into VC?
. I heard that is possible to plug two external hd. One with only Wii u games. The other with everything else ( GameCube and emulators roms) but has to be hidden from the Wii u with ustealth. Is that correct?
. Does nintendont work on an external hd now?
Thanks

1. Yes, as far as I know, you can convert every single Wii game into WiiVC
2. While you can use two HDDs, the second one that holds gamecube games and ROMs could only be used by vWii homebrew. You're better off using WiiVC for Gamecube games and putting your ROMs on a SD card if you don't want to hack vWii.
3. Yes it can work with an external HDD that is formatted with FAT32

The creator of the USB Helper regularly adds Wii and GC games that he injected into VC himself. You can easily make these injects yourself though, should your desired game not be on there.
