Oh wow. I wasn't aware vwii could utilize both the tv and the gamepad screen at the same time to display different pieces of information. I also didn't realize that the vwii could utilize the gamepad's camera.

The reason why you aren't releasing is logical and understandable but that still means you aren't releasing.
