Calm down, it just means that the WiiU tried it's periodic check for an update file and failed because you have TubeHax DNS set up PROPERLY.

I feel like this was added because of me. :P Anyway, can't wait for GBATemp to litterally die when the Kernel for 10.3 on 3DS and this are released.

10.3 for both, they'll both have kernel once Memchunkhax2 is released.

I am not going to predict a date, I'll just be jittery when it comes out.
 
Can anyone explain what the TubeHax DNS changing does? What does that IP mean? Does it redirect all my Wii U's internet traffic through that IP, and if so, would that give me worse connection in Smash Bros? Why does this block updates??

If this leads to Smash 4 mods ooomg it will be godsend. I cannot wait for that to take off.

I'm with you on that prediction, I have my calendar marked. I'm not making it a for sure date, but it's just a little something to look forward to. It's a reasonable release date to me. If it isn't ready by then, then damn lol what's holdin ya
 
you guys are so dumb, seriously. watch national treasure for one and you'll see 10.3 for ds? october 3rd jerks. 1 -5.x ? replace the number before the decimal with the month and the number after with the day.

or don't do any of it andmstop talking about dates or talking about talking about dates. or whatwver the hell i'm doing.

DNS is only used for INITIAL lookup. Once the route has been established, the connection works like it always does, so you will not notice any lag (unless your ISP/router sucks :P )

Not claiming to know anything about the actual release.

The internet runs off of IP addresses. I'm sure you've seen them i.e 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and server ips. DNS is a way to humanize these numbers by attaching a domain name i.e google.com as a domain. A DNS server provides translation from a domain name to IP address. All tubehax does is returns NXDOMAIN/localhost for Nintendo's update servers so they either don't resolve at all or just loop back onto its own connection. I haven't bothered to see what it actually does but that's all the DNS change does.

Not quite. Memchunkhax2 only gives ARM11 access and allows signed cia installation. Which of course means we can downgrade to a firmware with ARM9 access with said signed cias.

That said, once we have full access to ARM11, it becomes far more likely someone will find an entry point into ARM9 on that firmware, just because we have access to a larger part of the system software to poke around in for errors.
