no speculation, it was in his words I posted a bit of the chat script (it was me that asked him) in another thread.

No, that is not what I am saying. What I am saying is that if the exploit is ready and could be released and it doesn't due to him working on preventing piracy, that is a waste of time... Since other people will help piracy anyway... Not helping piracy is completely understood (and I agree on that).

The obfuscation he's talking about is to make things harder for Nintendo to patch it, which will basically give more time for people who don't know/want to block the update of their console to launch the exploit before a new update gets released...

He doesn't owe anything to anyone, and yet he tries to make it so that as many people as possible may enjoy it.

Hykem is obfuscating the code currently, but he believes Nintendo can patch it quickly anyway-- however, the obfuscation will help slow down piracy (in his words).

Don't wait up, it will still be a bit before it's released.

Edit: Also, Hykem checked 5.5.1 and there is no "E.T. URLs" as he calls them that check for newer updates [emoji14]

If you were a dev looking at the real possibility of being sued by a multi national corporation I think you would take steps, albeit simple ones that can be overcome, to 'hinder' piracy. Like not provide the keys with the exploit, or stuff like this, clear?

So if we updated to 5.5.1, it won't suddenly ask us to force update if we went to web browser? (SO TEMPTED TO PLAY PLATOON ONLINE, BUT ON 5.5.0)

What does this exactly mean? does it mean that Hykem won't help with the new loadline(totally fine with that) or does it mean that a new loadline would require lots of work and be hard to do?
