#1stworldproblemsMy wiiU wont allow me to do a software upgrade (Splatoon 2.5.0) only without updating the system first to 5.5.1... this is sad because I really love playing Splatoon but I am also waiting for the 5.5.0 exploit... We really live in a harsh world.
Nope. I only have it set up on my console. Also, not sure why you tagged me in the reinand thread. I don't even own a New3ds, lol.@Bkool999 , @Insidious611
Are either of you using the tubehax dns in your router, or using any additional blocking methods like blacklisting urls?

Well I'm not sure if it's relevant or not, but I also have my console set to auto-obtain it's IP address.Lol Chrome decided I must have wanted to post in that thread so it tabbed me over when I was trying to type and I didn't even realize it.
And that is weird, because I have a single internet connection set up with a manual dns (the tubehax one) and i can access the urls that are supposed to be blocked just fine.
Url blocking through the modem is not an option for me because it blocks access to EVERYTHING nintendo on the network. Means no eshop on the 3ds as well, which is not acceptable for me.I use 198.091.088.237 as secondary. It blocks some other stuff in case tubehax fails and ofcourse url blocking through modem.
Whenever i use the eshop on my 3ds i just turn off url blocking and afterwards turn it back on. It's as simple as that. Better be safe then sorry and complain afterwards.Url blocking through the modem is not an option for me because it blocks access to EVERYTHING nintendo on the network. is there a way to block system updates only and not software updates?

Your wii u can't update with standby function turned off and your wii u turned off. Also URL blocking doesn't reboot a modem. Settings like changing the password, name, channel and such do.And during that period where the blocking is off, your Wii U could potentially update. So why bother with it at all then. Besides most routers interrupt their connection when updating settings (they soft reboot most of the time) which isnt an option since I am not the only one using the internet.
Sorry being off-topic but what has the e-shop (something important than demos?) and all people want access to it (with danger to update)?
