Gaming hp laptop noteboook sound not working

so i had this laptop for a while but it broke then geek squad restored it like as if it was brand new but the volume wont work i have the touch top where i can just touch iut and it will turn on or off and the volume is always on mute and on the bottom it says its not mute but thye volume wont work so how do i fix this

In future use the edit button. Also you just need to install the audio drivers, link to hp downloads. I could get it more specific but you didn't include the model number.

Why would it not be safe to give the model number?!

It seems you just need to reinstall the audio drivers as Windows was reinstalled. If you gave the model number we could find the drivers for you.

If the geek squad broke it why not take it to them??

The model number is the model of notebook, it's labeled on your notebook e.g. G62.

Try right clicking computer -> manage -> device manager and have a look if an audio device is installed or if there are unknown devices.


Edit: go here and select drivers, your OS and install the audio driver.
