Can you change the "hidden settings" via a elf or WAD running from the wii?

You mean as in overwriting the config in NAND? Well, as far as I know, the farthest the Wii goes with files is keeping them as .APP.

So, what I've been doing is unpacking the .APP, looking for things to modify, and then changing them from the .APP itself.

It's possible to patch the files, but making a WAD and using that is already available and easy to do.

Opera's wonderful config file
ohmy.gif
Neat.

so apparently we could change the controls if we wanted to

great discovery!

anyone tried browsing file:// ? if so can you browse the directory tree like in opera for windows?

Here ?

Code:

I stated that in my first post.

Removing that lets you get around it, but there's no tree view.

I haven't gotten anywhere in Opera hacking, nothing seems to be working very well...

Well, you have to think outside the box a little.

I already mentioned increasing the cache, so you can view pages without it saying it's out of memory.

Change the start page.

Increase the amount of favorites you can have.

Reduce the amount of time pages get cached, so you always have fresh pages.

Reduce the size of the "chrome" bar, so you have more screen realestate.

Change the way buttons function.

Wadtools includes an unpacker.

Follow the readme included with the tool.

ok i figured out how to work the unpacker and i have the file (thought its a .des file) and i edited what i wanted to, but now i dont know how to pack it back into a .wad ive tried Wad-Packer.0.1.REPACK.Wii-BlaZe but all i get is an error. id tell you what it says but it disappears to fast

That seems too advanced. I wouldn't count on it ever happening. SOmething like that would probably be easier with a from-scratch homebrew project.

You're not going to be able to add anything to Opera. While a port of Firefox would be possible, don't count on it happening any time soon, especially not with plugins.

Whenever I use the Wadtool program to decrypt the .wad I get .des files instead of .app

I'm using Wine on Ubuntu 8.04 if that makes a difference. (I don't think it should)

EDIT: How would you repack via Wadtools?
