My real name, Tom Dexter Wakeford. I'm to understand that the reason I ended up with such a crap name is because both my parents were hammered. That's especially evident in my middle name, which I usually deny all knowledge of. My family name comes from my dad's side, which I hate. My first name I hate because it's boring, not to mention nobody ever believes me that it's just Tom, not Thomas, even when I thrust my birth certificate in their fucking face to prove it. The only advantage to my real name is that it fits on score boards, hence my love of video games.
My chosen name, Blaze. My best friend Amelia was watching me play Ace Combat 5, assumed I'd picked the name of the character myself (you can't) and thus assumed I liked the name, started calling me that, it stuck. To the point where I'm seriously considering making the change permenant and legally sound, anyone who knows the real me knows that I hate my name, I much prefer to be known as Blaze as my most trusted friends all call me that, it's a mark of friendship, the eternal bond between us. Only costs about a tenner to change my name, apparantly. On the odd occasion I require a second name, oddly enough I opt for Fielding, a name I thought I'd chosen entirely at random because it 'sounded right'. It wasn't until I got Streets of Rage working a while back I realised I'd fucked up. But whatever, hardly anyone seems to remember that series any more (FOR SHAME!) so if I do change my name and have to provide a last name, that'll be what I change it to.
The 163 in my screen name is a reference to my old Air Cadet squadron, the 163 Coventry Phoenix Squadron, hence why my personal icon is usually a white phoenix. That's also why Amelia refers to me as 'Soldier First Class' because I actually held that rank within Cadets and as such I'm pretty sure I can actually introduce myself as such. Also why she jokingly gave me a Crisis Core Soldier First Class dog tag, which became something of an icon within the group and now we all have them. We give them to those we mark as our equals. Strange but true.
Really I always thought Dexter was a cool name Tom is kinda weird to have as a first name though so much people have middle names its strange to me because neither me or my sister have middle names which is kinda cool in a way when people dont believe you and your like serious they tend to have a weird kind of treatment to it like its awesome or something because middle names tend to suck.Last sentence was hard to understand bear with me lol.
