. What I suggest if you mark your stuff or make it impossible to take your stuff without getting introuble. And show no anger. I know it'll be hard but it'll work. You may think you hate your brother, but you don't know how much you love him until he's gone.

if he gets in trouble from stealing stuff now it will help in later life. If he doesn't....He's just going to get worse. doing what he did was wrong, and after he's done stealing controlers he's gonna steal an xbox and then something more expensive and something even more expensive and so on......

It's a bit tricky to do but, when he is not around, try open his xbox and break the little ''Sync'' button from the inside on the xbox somehow..(dunno cut a wire connected to it or whatever)
Anyhoo once his controllers are synced with another xbox or whatever, he cannot sync them back ;D

Most people probably wouldn't like this idea but you should try carving your name or something on the bottom of your controller and other things that you have the same of.

Id suggest you sneak in and swap back than do that, you could try it with a marker but with enough rubbing it can come off....

I like alot of the ideas going around here, but I think it'd be just dandy if you went around and marked your stuff quite discretely (As to not make you brother aware), and the next time he is out or what not mark the controller and anything else he has stolen from you. If you are going to tag/mark your controller as yours, a good place would be the inside on the back of the controller where the battery pack is inserted. That way you can goto your mum with proof of your dickhead brother. After showing your mum that, she then will probably believe that your brother did dent your 360.

A better idea is to build a 2.4GHz jammer. They will block WiFi and the XBOX's joypads. There are plenty of guides on how to build one from an old cordless telephone.

Ye olde spoiled brat...I know the pains of it well. The best way is to gather 'evidence', plot, plot, and plot some more. When the time is right, you strike. It's best to show him that he can't get away with it. Burn it into his mind. You can probably figure out a way to enter his room.
Like what someone said, pretend/act like your mom asked for him, lock your room, then rush into his room..you can either do the following : steal back what's yours, lock the door while you're in, or take back what's yours, and leave the door locked so he can't get back in.

Your next best friend is threats of sorts. Not death threats, but target things he treasures. Depending on what happens, you'll have a few things to do/say.
You'll also need to make sure to 'protect' your belongings. If there's a small flaw in the plan, try to work around it.

If things escalate further and further, think of something with the side of the law. Legal actions..IE - restraining order, getting emancipated, etc. Or go with the dark path. If he ever crosses the line ('again', depending on how lenient you are, or your terms), think about how you can screw over his life.

Information to friends (lower trust), the use of internet(pics, depending on what it is, the value and effect will grow over time), then think about figuring a way to ruin his chances at a good/decent job. He'll have a hard enough time at school. Fill them with despair, regret, and maybe they'll pick up their lives and change for the better.
...I wonder if there's something wrong with me. Oh well, whatever.

Lock your own bedroom so as not to get more stuff stolen from your thieving brother.

Not everyone needs/feels the urgency to lock their doors. It's just that incidents of the sorts can happen so easily over something so little. Eventually, aware or not, things end up getting out of hand. That and if you consider things about siblings..not everyone can suspect their brother, sister, or parents. Of course, being naive and age is also a factor.
