Hacking how to update CFW ...

Hello,

I have new 3ds xl on firmware 11.6.0-39e it is running luma3ds payload version 9.0-2a840f2. I havent updated anything since I softmoded it 2 or 3 years ago...

first of all I cant update luma3ds. running updater gives error: fatal error failed to obtain required data code -660561850

also when starting 3ds if I dont hold L button it starts OFW. i tried to mess around with luma boot menu but nothing changes...

but most frustrating is that now I cant use internet browser.

so can anyone point me to a safe guide to update CFW so this issues could be fixed, I dont care having latest luma3ds but i want to make internet browser usable again and fix this "boot with holding L button" and make it automatic to boot into CFW

Just update luma manually to 9.1, you need it. then update OFW.

after doing so.. is it ok to update to current 3ds ofw update? I think its the only way to make browser and online multiplayer function again...

so I have updated Luma 3ds as suggested by you with the guide https://3ds.hacks.guide/updating-b9s and then updated the system. all worked out just fine. now im on 11.9.0-42e.

Yea got it,but some time i see posts like "dont update" "you'll brick" etc... So is luma so flawless than it can work with any upcomming update?

dust yes it is safe to update, luma 9.1 is the last one and you already have it

Thank you. Already did it. Luma updater as always wasnt working and updating so had to manually update to stable version and then did the firmware update.

I cant update to latest firmware
anymore.error message pops up about a minute into update process. Load bar isnt filling.
luma is up to date.
Anyone can help?

1. Which system version are you on now?
2. Which version of Luma3DS is displayed when booting the 3DS while holding Select?
3. Is the 3DS connected to the internet?
4. Have you tried clearing the DNS settings in your 3DS internet settings?

Luma shows 10.0.1

Internet is connected.

Havent tried clearing dns-heard about it for the first time

You might have some bad DNS settings from a long time ago that are blocking updates. Either remove those DNS settings or, better yet, remove your internet settings from your 3DS completely and reconnect to the internet anew.

Just did that. Crated fresh connection.same result.
