Gaming How to split MKV into 2 playable parts

Can someone recommend me free software that will split a large MKV file into 2 under 4GB parts that are playable? I want to be able to play it on my PC using VLC, and at the same time have it stored to my FAT32 external drive. Also, a quick how to guide would be helpful. Thanks.

I use avidemux. If you set the modes for Audio and Video to Copy, the container to mkv obviously.
Then cut the video up, it doesn't even have to reenecode it, it'll just copy the video.
