Yes. You can format your card after your desired CFW is installed.

Okay, thank you!

EDIT: How do I downgrade the CFW? I want to go to 3.71 M33 so I can run Digimon World 3 without glitches. >.

yes if it has a hackable motherboard and if it does then you can install custom firmware using a pandora battery and a magic memory stick

Thx

Is there a way to do this while on OFW 5.02? I'm still waiting for my new battery to come in and I'm using an external power source so it won't let me update.

yes. the guide will work for ofw 5.02 because it is 5.03 or below.

It either freezes or doesn't do anything. I have a 1000 psp 5.02 firmware. I can't update until I get a new battery. When I hover over the image.

you realize you need to be on 5.03 right?

edit: i see you were previously told that it was possible for 5.03 or below...well the guide works on 5.03 only.

Well the guide DOES work on 5.03 or below, mostly because you're forced to UPDATE to 5.03, which many people miss because they don't know anything about PSPs and decide that skipping steps in a guide is a good idea.

his issue was that he couldn't run ChickHEN. he can't update to 5.03 because he doesn't have a battery for his PSP. he was not skipping any steps, just was previously mis-informed

I said QUOTEyes. the guide will work for ofw 5.02 because it is 5.03 or below.
Updating to 5.03 is part of the guide..

...and their original question was...

so responding...

QUOTE(MLRX @ Jul 30 2010, 10:29 PM) yes. the guide will work for ofw 5.02 because it is 5.03 or below.

...implies that they don't need to update to 5.03 at all.
