I just can't get chickhen to work on my 1000 phat

either it doesn't do anything or just crashes, this sucks ass man

I think so, the latest version, chickhenR3 I think, the alternative software doesn't work for the psp phat.

I've probably tried it about 200 times, not once has my 1000 loaded into chickhen

there's no R3, only R2. And only the original chickhen comes with a "SLIM" and a "PHAT" folder, you'll be usng the latter one obviously.

yeah i'm using chickhen R2 phat, so any suggestions or are you just here to mock?

restore default settings? Different MS? Max screen light? There's no real method to make it start, so I must be here to mock.

Keep trying until it works. When you get fed up if it doesn't (it should eventually), just buy a Pandora battery.

Ok, ChickHEN is designed to 'crash' so I am guessing that you possibly don't have the update files for the CFW properly extracted to your PSP. If it doesn't find in \psp\game\update\eboot.pbp then it will just stall or turn off. Make sure you have all the files in the correct place!

In the 300x section, you mention the possibility to install and run homebrew on fw higher than 5.03 but the link is missing.

you have got to be kidding, I hadn't loaded the software on the memory stick, I was trying to boot into chickhen without any cfw files on my psp

I guess that was the problem, I even lent my old psp to my friend so he could take it on holiday because I was unable to hack it...

You don't need any files on your PSP for chickhen to boot, I didn't. Just the images and h.bin.

5. Now download Hellcat's Recovery Flasher and OFW 5.00
6. Extract both and out of the Recovery Flasher folder place RECOVERY in PSP/GAME and then rename EBOOT.PBP (In the folder you extracted 5.00 OFW) to 500.PBP and place it on the root of the memory stick

BTW, you can use the FT link to 5.03 Prometheus-2 (http://filetrip.net/f12867-5-03-Prometheus-2.html).
Also, I recommend L.M.A.O instead of vanilla ChickHEN (http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=217225&hl=), it works better with non-official MS Pro Duo.

I'm buying a PSP 200x. In the motherboard chart it either looks like only 1 model out of 6 is fully hackable. Either that or only 1 model is not fully hackable. I would like to know the odds before I buy so please explain.

IIRC it is not to do with being able to install CFW but rather being able to use a 2000 that already has CFW from creating a Pandora battery.

Only 3000s with >6.03 (IIRC) and pspGo are currently incapable of running CFW (the rest of the 3000s need to reboot into CFW via ChickHEN each hard reboot). While 1000s/2000s are wide open with Pandora batteries or if they have

If im on Gen-D3 can i upgrade safely to Prometheus by using the last section of the guide

or do i have to downgrade back to OFW 5.03 ?

For the 200X/300X part of the guide, it uses MHUspeed, not Chickhen or L.M.A.O.
