How to setup Emunand/ keep Sysnand online

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Aiming of having Emunand in this topic is to max out Sysnand to play online while Emunand stays offline

IF YOUR SYSTEM WAS BANNED YOU'D STOP READING FROM HERE
> DO NOT check whether you're got banned yet by connecting to the Internet or so.

There is always at least a risk to get you banned or unlikely to brick your Switch.

> Press on [Power] button for 15s or so to reboot the system

+ Factory Restore Settings
> This will clean all ticketblob and error logs
Stay OFFLINE
> Settings > System > Factory Restore Settings (or System Initializing)
> Say NO when asking Internet connection
> Press on on the red button after all to restore.

UPDATE SYSNAND FIRMWARE
Skip this step if your Switch is up to date.

Complete the system initializing
> Connect Wifi to the Internet
> Optional > Create a new account and link it
> Settings > System > System Update
> Update your system to the latest firmware

Optional > Factory Restore Settings while staying ONLINE to make it completely cleans up.

DELETE ALL WIFI CONNECTION AND STAY AIRPLANE MODE.
> After creating Emunand, it must have NO CONNECTION.

CREATE EMUNAND
SD card must be plugged in to the system in order to boot SX OS Bootloader Menu

> On SX 2.3 Beta, the Emunand will be created on the SD card, the SX's Nintendo folder is renamed to Emutendo so that it won't affect to the keyblobs that can wipe out data on SD.

> Boot to SX OS Bootloader Menu (payload.bin) by holding [Vol+] button
> Option
> EmuNAND
> Advanced
> [Copy USER partition to EmuNAND] > [YES]
The process will take about 30 minutes if the system is now empty.

You will get Success

> Back to the main menu (3 big buttons)
> Turn on Emunand (on top of the first button)

> Turn off the system

UPDATE EMUNAND FIRMWARE OFFLINE
> ChoiDujourNX https://files.sshnuke.net/ChoiDujourNXv101.zip
> Copy ChoiDujourNX.nro to \switch\ in your SD
> Download new firmware update
> Place all files to a folder, fwxxx for example
> Run ChoiDujourNX form Homebrew Menu on Emunand
> Choose fwxxx folder
It will load all NCAs inside of the folder and will ask you
[x.x.x] or [x.x.x-exfat]
Choose one
It will continually analyze the data and will ask you
> Choose [Select Firmware]
It will read all the data from your chosen firmware
> Press on Prevent fuse burning (enable AutoRCM) to turn it off (we don't need AutoRCM when having Sysnand for online purpose), Press on Yes when it asks again.
If you'd like to have AutoRCM installed just leave it be.
> Press on [Start installation]
> [Reboot] > [Shutdown]

ENJOY WHILE IT LASTS

The new SX OS update added the EmuTendo folder. Is unlinking still necesary?

Does the sysNAND stay clean after this guide if I never ever hacked my switch before?

Awesome guide, BTW. Helped me a lot!

question - if i never used xci's or nsp's but I did use reinx and i did use pkhex (pokemon) to modify my save file. do I still need to restore my unhacked nand? or can I just create the emunand?

Is this tutorial still actual?
Until TX release a major update yes, 2.3 sx os with SD emunand is on beta and it has some issues right now.

Just follow the steps, or if u do that is at your own risk, maybe there are traces and ninty could detect them then ban you.

Yes you can create emunand on fat32. SD:\sxos\emunand\
Thank you! It Will work if i just transfer files to PC,format to FAT32 and paste files back? My emunand Was created on exfat so so maybe sxos used bigger than4 GB files and therefore that nand IS useless on fat32

Yes it will work that way.

Been out of the loop for so long, so please forgive my ignorance:

Is this Emunand is universal for other CFW or just SX CFW?

ok, so im gonna make the plunge. i have a clean 5.1.0 nand. im going to make an sdnand from my current 5.1.0 (that ive installed nsps and homebrew to) with all my saves and reinstall my games. after that, ill restore my sysnand with my clean nand. am i on the right track? i havent emunanded before on any system.

Hi guys,

I have a new switch with firmware 4.0.1. I did a nand backup, created an emunand within sxos and updated the emunand to firnware 6.1 using choidujournx. The sysnand is still on 4.0.1 and I have 2 sd cards to keep it as clean as possible.

I'm playing my xci and nsp files only on emunand being offline and used the sysnand with the other sd card to play my original copy of Mario Odyssey and Zelda.

Can I update my sysnand after booting it from sxos (to avoid burning fuses) to 6.2 for playing fortnite, accessing the eshop and updating mario/Zelda or will there be a problem with my 6.1 emunand? I read something about problems with sleep mode and also the new security with the 6.2 update so I did not update my sysnand until now.

Thank you very much for your help.

If i have only ran homebrew through atmosphere, do i need to do the clean up sysnand to have a clean nand backup or can i just backup my nand having only run homebrew and never installed and nsp files

can you help me I can not do his steps I can not do delete the corresponding files

steps:

+ Clean Ticketblob
> access save folder
> Copy 80000000000000e1 and 80000000000000e2 to your PC.
> Delete them in save folder

+ Clean Error Logs
> access save folder
> Delete 80000000000000D1

i have emunand set up but im scared to try haha. plus i havent updated my sysnand to 6.2. waiting for an update from sxos.

Im not gonna say it will work forever but I've played a ridiculous amount of smash online on my off after making an emmunand

how do you deal with the sleep mode not working?

Welp, I tend to only use my switch on my dock, so when I want to play my cfw

Turn off switch -> rcm -> sxos and play
and it won’t sleep while im playing

When I want to play online

Turn off switch -> sx boot into ofw or just turn on switch normal -> play smash till my eyes hurt

The sleep mode issue doesn’t happen on the ofw, but yeah you really just choose how you want to use your switch and take an extra two minutes setting it up there
