No.

The SCDS IS saving the game after you restart the DS
but you don't have to restart each time you end a game.

coroner4Along with my save issues, also I have problems with Castlevania:PoR (it freezes, the touch screen goes black, the upper screen still shows the map and the music is still playing) (but no slowdowns in the intro). My memory is 1GB Kingston microSD (made in Japan). I tried with FA32 and FAT with 64K cluster size. Also I tried with 2x, 3x and 4x the Speed setting.

Anyway, the solution: I've ordered also an R4

I also have this problem using 1GB Kingston MicroSD
and this issue is already fixed with v1.1 update
but I guess you're too busy with your R4

I tried with 1.0 and 1.1 and it's not fixed (on DS One). I still have crashes (when I click on Start for example).

ohhhh i see! so i guess thats why it has a battery! so it can hold the save in ram until you turn the DS on again. Great.. 2 mysterys solved for me
