I formatted an external hard drive as internal storage for my Nvidia Shield but I reset my shield so I wanted to know if it is possible to recover the files onto my computer

I put the file on after it was formatted but the hard drive was not plugged in when I reset the shield.

Not sure if the Nvidia shield would read those files, but as for files that were meant for the PC , you can try data recovery apps, but you aren't guaranteed to get your files back fully working, you might end up with corrupted files, even with like EaseUS data recovery.

A formatted drive means the drive with no data and ready to store data according to its size. Data recovery from the formatted drive is only possible when you have the data recovery software like Recuva, Stellar, Testdisk, etc.

And even then, some files can't be recovered fully.
