Hacking How to re-format my SD

Ok, i'm a bit of a noob at this but my r4's suddenly got weird files in the system folder with all sorts of charaters and numbers. so i wanna re-format it. But I DONT KNOW HOW. pLZ HELP ME!!

Step 1: Formatting your microSD | This will erase all files on the MicroSD, so please back your things up first!

First, download the SD formatter from here: link

Once done, run the formatter.msi file, get through the installer, and open the formatter via the desktop icon. Plug your microSD into your pc, and the formatter should auto detect it. Now all you have to do is click "Format"

Ill make this simple:

1) Load your SD card into your PC, this is usually done by taking it out of your card, putting it in the reader, and then using one of your USB ports of your PC/laptop/netbook

2) My computer - Removable Devices - you should see your micro SD memory from there

3) once you see it, right click, and hit format

4) check the quick format box

5) get the latest firmware for your R4 here http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/

6) extract files using the popular program Winrar , if you dnt have it its here http://filehippo.com/download_winrar_32/

7) once files are extracted copy paste/cut paste them over to the SD

8) now put all the games you want on the SD

9) safely remove the micro SD

10) insert it in R4, load it up, and play

... Top tip, you can avoid data corruption in the future by properly shutting down a game, as in dnt turn it off when its saving etc. Also refrain from hitting the top of the card whilst gaming etc.
