Homebrew How to load commerical roms in Moonshell 2.10?

The dsi screen capture allows for the screen capture to work on the DSi. The reason there is a toggle for that is because originally the button cofiguration (select I believe, but it could be start) clashed with the DSi's change brightness shortcut. Thus, it wasn't possible to take screen shots of moonshell2 while using a DSi. The option allows for DSi users to take screenshots with moonshell2 instead of changing the backlight.

I never said I'd release a crack for 2.10 but I will release my 2.08 fix and my 2.09 fix

first of all, thank you Normatt for the 2.09 fix

downloaded 2.09 fix, installed the new overlay.dll file and did the rename thing.

moonshell loads from the start (dstti) plays mp3 & .dpg but when i try to load rom file all i get is upper screen white, down screen black.

any suggestions?

Do you have a loader? like the ysloader, unneon's loader, or Xenon++'s loader? Also what renaming thing are you talking about?

yes ysloader and the "rename thing" is in the readme file included:

To use simply rename your nds.?.nds to _vh.VeryHugeNDSLoader.nds and just for the hell of it make a copy called _hn.HugeNDSLoader.nds aswell just incase

oh that renaming thing xD. Well, do you have ysmenu installed (actually, I've never tried installing ysmenu to a ttds...I think you still can, but its the regular method of making ysmenu, so no generators, though they won't really be needed anyways xD)? Kind of a dumb question, but might as well ask it, are you using moonshell2.09?

yes i have, ysmenu and using moonshell 2.09. i used to update with every version launched until 2.06, but still i downloaded all up to 2.10

If you use 2.09 with modified overlay.dll, make sure you have "yslaunch as _vh.VeryHugeNDSLoader.nds".

[Edit] It is known that on DSTT, 2.09 has a bug that it cannot launch homebrews including ysloader.
Use 2.08 instead.
Or should I release 2.10finalbeta 2.10beta9? (namely pre-finalbeta)

That is a piece of information that is very nice to know. By asking if you can release 2.10beta9, I'm guessing that means that the overlay.dll crack still works up until that point? I'm pretty sure a couple people would love to know if that is true (off the top of my head, Cannonfoddr would like this information, I believe he wanted the DSi screen capture option or something).

overlay.dll is said to be able to be patched 2.07-2.10beta9. (Moonlight says he has added a protection in 2.10finalbeta in his twitter)

[Edit] I have to say that no string "RESETMSE" in new overlay.dll. This means that overlay.dll is encrypted. So we have to decrypt it firstly to find "RESETMSE".

did yslaunch mobo, now top screen is white, bottom screen is green and displays error message:
Initializing libfat....

And... If it freezes in Initializing libfat... (no "Failed"), possibly loading procedure is wrong. Old boot.bin has some issues... Could you tell me how did you tried to launch ROM?

If find no other errors ...
freezes on Initializing libfat ... can also be caused by used card.
on my DSOneI, this error comes when use a 2 GB MicroSD Sandisk.
Other Cards works all perfectly...

moonshell loads and it can play video and music if you select rom by touch screen pressing or a button presing then you"ll get white/green screens

@Tue te for testing purposes i use 512 mb sandisc micro sd cards, if it works i use then a 4 gb sdhc for DSTT and a 8 gb sdhc for DSTTi

I mean it is on the sandisk cards (nonSDHC).
I think the problem with the cards comes from DSTT or Ysmenu self and not the Loader
Before you continue to try on, you should exclude that.
I tested several days without result, before I realized.
