it is merely to preview the theme, to see if it will brick your Wii or if you like it or not...!!

Like a small preview to what is to come with full NAND emu, cool. Enjoy the holiday.

NOTE:

- If we get the contents from other System Menu version (for example, 3.2E), and we copy it to "content" folder, and we rename it correctly (like in this tutorial), Menu Patcher will load that System Menu version instead of the installed one

Greetings.

What are these contents?

some say this version of menu patcher lets you play backups from disc channel too, but unlike it shows the backup but when booting it says, an error has occured, please press eject and power of your wii...

have you systemmenu 4.0 or 4.1?

on 3.2 or under it would work

Waninkoko told me that it can replace files other than the system menu. So you can put WiiWare, VC, and so on. To me this seems like a mini NAND loader.

Yes, I'm sure you could do more than just system menu stuff, this is just a temporary patch that loads that kind of thing from SD/USB, that's all.

If you have a full FS dump on card with VC games which are installed only there the patched menu wont show them, so it only loads the SM .dol from SD and starts it. I tested it.

I managed to make it work with preloader, but I had to modify the source and install the system menu in another location, but at least it works. Now I can autoboot with custom theme in sys menu ^^

It works here with a FS dump made after installing Preloader without any source modification...

menu patcher 1.2 code dumps on 4.1u. all the latest ios revisions trucha'd and cIOS rev14 w/preloader running IOS60. ):
also i get the disc channel banner's to work when running preloader and 249, but when trying to start the actual game, error.

So you changed the system theme with menu patcher 1.2 having preloader installed in your wii?

EDIT: ok, to make it work with preloader I just have to add the sysmenu dol file and name it 00000008.app.

The sysmenu is 0000076 for 4.0E and 0000007f for 4.1E

Well, since this now works, I can finally make my wii but into menu patcher straight for an invisible custom sysmenu load without modifying the nand (aside from preloader)

edit: I made a demostrative video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdYGmUnVstM

ehm 4.1E is 0...07e.app not 0..07f.app

As I said, the system menu dol file. That is the file having the theme. To make it run with preloader you must have both.
