Do you have any idea why it's freezing on the gecko os bootup?
Actually there's other fella here with the same problem as you, he can boot the game thru GeckOS but with stripes at the sides of the screen, and thru the Disc Channel he can't at all, the DRE apears and if he deletes the IOS55 just get a blank black screen, the only solution coming to my mind would be to upgrade to 3.4 and then do the Dynamic Duo Custom IOS Downgrader 1.2 + IOS Downgrader 1.0 to 3.2, cuz' I just did that a few days ago, that and the fact that I'm using Waninkoko's cIOS36_r7 instead of WiiGator's are the only diferences I could blame about it

for some reason i applied the brickblocker to 1 copy of the game and it gave me a DRE, and another copy i didn't apply brickblocker, but it obviously just says Wii system update on the top loading screen, sry i'm not too good at this stuff.

if you're in 3.2 you can enable Starfall, so the update gets bypassed...!!!

But I also patch the update of all of my games with WiU1.1, and then if I open them with WUM it says that WBB1.3 has been used in the game

Hello all, new to this forum, I have a question.

I fixed NFSU (PAL) the way you described and it works, however, I'm using 3.2E with Gamma 0.3 and it freezes each time within like 30 minutes play time, saying it couldn't read the disc. Now I've already backed up two other games, which are working. Same type of disc, DVD-R from Sony. So in theory it shouldn't be the disc, is there something I can do about this? Force PAL60, change the hook type or something? Or do I have to reburn the thing? And would it work to rip the back up, because I already threw away the ISO from my computer...

EDIT: in-game it has trouble loading the environment, half the time I drop through the road because the road hadn't been loaded yet - even during races, which is really annoying because you lose a couple of seconds each time - sometimes it even just stops playing the music because it couldn't read or stuff like that... usually the intro, until the 'resume career' button, all works great, the game starts normally, but then in-game it starts showing all these signs of it not working 100% correct...

same here - I was so excited to see NFSU working, it's a fantastic game (I entirely disagree with the bad reviews almost 100%).

but the first time I did a toll booth race it completely died, couldn't read the disc nearly fast enough and it kept dying wiht objects and road popping up under my car, finally my wii completley locked up (I guess it couldn't take it any more!)

so NFSU is NOT working 100% under gamma.

fyi, gamma standard release (not 002 fix release), I patched the nfsu disc myself (pal disc, patched with 002 fix only, played on ntsc-u wii with force ntsc).

edit: worked for 90 minutes with only occasional glitches before that major breakdown.

good, so it's not me, but still, anyone know a solution for this? because I can't believe people would say 'works 100%' if it freezes every 20 minutes...

EDIT: it works longer from time to time, with the toll booth race I also had the same problem ... although this was the first time it didn't freeze but just loaded what it hadn't loaded already and then continued - which is really annoying, because it resets your car and you lose about 5 to 10 seconds because of that, twice in one race and you'll lose the race.
I found out that if you turn the game on pause for a couple of seconds before advancing towards critical points - where you know it froze last time - the game is able to load that part already, so that you don't get the same glitches over and over ... I did this with the toll booth race and I finished it easily in time

However, this 'freezing' is really annoying anyway, it could easily just crash when you're still in the safe house... it lags the most when you're in a wanted-mission - when the game has to load the entire environment and the cops and other traffic...

And last, completely unrelated, I agree with dkelley, the game is WAY better than most reviews say... I'd give it at least a 7.5

but, as said, we're using Gamma, that's different from GeckoOS, isn't it? (yes, I'm a n00b to the whole Wiibrew thing

)

That's for the modchip users.

so I just read, but that still leaves us with the question: what do we do about the freezing thing?

now, I've been reading up a bit tonight, after all my game won't work correctly, and it appears to be an actual issue with the game, not just with a faulty disc or anything... However, now my question is, the machine SAYS it couldn't read the disc, is that the same? or is this something truly different, and if it is how do we fix it?

Please test with a dcIOS55 with IOS37 dip:

QUOTE(djdynamite123 @ Dec 22 2008, 10:20 PM) Wiipwer, geckoOS 002 fix works well, thanx, although gamma looks really good, what should i use softy auto, gamma auto, geckoOS, hmm guess ill have them all on hehem ill play IP DIP DOG SHIT!

If you like it, upload it!

Thanks, haven't tested it yet, since the readme file states something about IOS249, which I think I had to install with the homebrew + gamma package ? could this be true? and if so, what should I do then?

EDIT: maybe nice to know: I bought the Wii at 3.4, I downgraded using the downgrade + homebrew channel + gamma package from some Belgian website. I think it came with a cIOS installer that installed all kinds of stuff
tongue.gif
and I think also IOS36 to 55 ... but again, if it wasn't obvious already, I'm a n00b to the whole Wii thing
tongue.gif
I'm known with homebrew on my PSP... I'm experienced with computers and programming, so the n00b instructables were really easy
tongue.gif
but I have no clue - as of yet - what the whole IOS stuff is etc.

I have to change that comment doesn't make sense to me. (lol, i have written it...)

Install a IOS55 with IOS36 or IOS37 dip as IOS 248 for example and set SoftCjip to use IOS248.

PS: The text in the readme is of course a test if you really read it...

okay, so this is what I'm doing, or did actually, since I'm not sure of what I'm supposed to do, really
tongue.gif

I went to Custom IOS Downgrader 1.2, by Waninkoko. I selected Firmware 3.2E, which is IOS290 v1039,
then I ran WiiGator's cIOS Installer (version 0.3 gamma) ... then I did the shop channel install for IOS51 so shouldn't it have done so already? and if not, how do I make it do that?
tongue.gif

EDIT: the cIOS installer had both a boot.dol file as well as the cIOS36_rev7 installer in it, so I'm assuming it installed that too?

I'm thinking, I'm reading a lot about bad cd's and reading errors and stuff, could it be that my Sony DVD-R's were badly written by IMGburn? Should I switch to Nero?

modchip user with a stupid question ... where do I get IOS55 from and how do I install it ?

Try this Gecko OS if you get the 002 error:
http://rapidshare.com/files/175877147/Geck...2fixv3.zip.html

You can extract IOS55 from every game which needs it with Trucha Signer or WiiScrubber. You could extract it too with wufe, if you don't want to search the necessary key file(s).

That went straight over this noob's head - don't I just need to install IOS55 (presumably patched to allow the trucha bug) once and that's it ?
