ROM Hack How to extract ROMS from Virtual Console Titles?

What's the best way to extract a NES ROM from a NES Virtual Console CIA file? I have heard of HackingToolkit9DS, but I couldn't get it working (moreover, I believe it is deprecated). Does Godmode9 have the functionality to extract ROMs from a VC CIA, and if so, how do I do it?

I think the ROM is in the RomFS (no pun intended) and the CIA can be decrypted by Godmode9 iirc.

Yes, you can just point GM9 to A:/, press R+A and search for titles, select the title, mount the main .app (the one with 0000 in the filename), enter the romfs, and copy the rom directly to the SD

However, 3DS NES games are in the nonstandard TNES format, you will probably need to convert them yourself

Could I just rename the file to (.nes)? How would I convert it otherwise?

No, TNES headers are not iNES headers

You would need to read the specifications:

and write a converter - or just do it manually if you only have a couple (I did it in the opposite direction for my first VC injections a couple of years ago!)
