I made the folder with the good title-ID, cafiine can list all files but the folder is emplty. How to dump every files of the game?

How to dump every files of the game?
If you want to dump every files of the game, you better use TCPgecko (it's working, check if you have the latest version).

Cafiine dump works file by file, for example if you want to dump /vol/content/data/action/etc/CollisionData.bin,
you have to create an empty file (like new text document) named "CollisionData.bin-request" in your folder "000500xx-xxxxxx/vol/content/data/action/etc/".
When the game will open this file, and only at this moment, it will be dumped and a new file named "CollisionData.bin-dump" is created.
If a file named "CollisionData.bin-dump" already exists in the folder, it's not dumped again.
Cafiine allows you to dump some files that are not accessible with TCPGecko, but if you want to dump a large number of files, go TCPGecko.

Whoa, what? What kinds of files can it dump that aren't accessible to TCPGecko? I'm not saying I don't believe you, just don't have an idea of what files would be hidden from TCP Gecko's FSA.

For example, files open by the game in this folder : /vol/storage_mlc01
In mario kart 8 I have files in this folder : \vol\storage_mlc01\usr\save\00050010\1004a200\user\common\db
I didn't investigate much on those files, but it may have some interesting stuff.

The FSA tab of TCPGecko ask the filesystem to show all the files in the content folder, while cafiine show the files actually open by the game.

Hi guys, sorry to bump this thread, but I need some help :)

I attempt to dump MK8 dlc maps, but I am hitting a wall right now :(

I made sure I've written down folders correctly, but I cannot get anything to dump :(

Here is what I currently am trying to dump:

cafiine1.PNG
cafiine2.PNG

Anyone can help me ? :)

Hello VinsCool, you are using cafiine 5.3.2 v1.1, you must use v1.2, before this release the dump function was not implemented.
Here it is.

edit: your file structure is good, it should work with 1.2 :)
if some files freeze the console when dumping, you can try the "-request_slow" option

If cafiine gets struck on one file, while mk8 map loads, does that mean the file is dumping?
Yes it can take some time, but also that it has frozen, check if the file gets bigger in your explorer.
Also if I remember well you should see a lot of messages in the server window.

nothing is happening for the last 10 minutes, it is stuck on the szs file, and doesn't do anything, while mk8 is on the loading screen.

Does that mean it crashed?

Yes it has crashed, try the "-request_slow" method.
It will be very slow (if it works)

edit: if it's dumping you can see a message like : "=> dump ( ... filename ...) - ..." in the server window

Nope, it still doesn't work :/

I made sure the path is the same, correctly named files, added "-request_slow", but cafiine once again got stuck on the szs file and doesn't do anything :(

EDIT: Nevermind, if it's stuck, then it's trying to dump and can't, otherwise it'd ignore the file with a wrong extension
Dunno what's going on in that case, haven't tried MK8 myself.

Folder always appears empty after loading :|
