Yes you need the official (or modded) FPKG tool set, specifically pub-chk tool.

If you have a 5.05 or below FPKG the pass should be 32x 0s, but sometimes they aren’t, either way (as mentioned) install it and dump it to get the contents.

if you have a legit pkg you need the legit password from the developers, or the default Unreal, Unity or GameMaker passwords will work on most (passwords wont be shared here).

If you open a legit pkg with a legit password the binary contents will always be encrypted. Just remember that.

isnt there are actually multiple ways to decrypt PSN pkg? The PKG password is game specific, but with the keys, it should work for any PSN PKG up to that key's firmware version?

afaik, ps4 pkgs are like ps vita ones in that each is encrypted with a specific key. the psv uses the zrif key, so you can decrypt them on your computer as long as you know the zrif. that keys is taken from the work.bin, so a game must've been bought once to get the key. I'm pretty sure ps4 pkgs are the same with their passphrase.

And how you decrypt files after you entered a legit password ?
