Hacking How much space do I need to install most VPK files?

So I got Error 0x8001001C when i was trying to install fifa 15, thing is I had around 4.5 gigs before I transferred over fifa. Since fifa is around 2.5 gigs doesn't that means I should still have 2 gigs left for it install? Anyways I let it install and came back to this error and now my storage space is 0, what's up with that?

Wait, so you had 4.5gb. Then transferred over FIFA with 2gb left. Then tried to install it? Won't the FIFA game be 2.5gb too? So you have the game + the vpk file, which is 5gb.

vpk is a zip file,files will be compressed , during install files are deflated and extracted, hence the bigger size requiremenl
