With the KH picture, is that a cut-scene or gameplay? It really is beautiful.
The screenshots of KH 3DS kinda remind me of the Kingdom Hearts from the PS2.

since the graphics and sound are pretty much on the level of Wii's aspects, i'd say each "ROM" or "ISO" will take about 500MB to 2GB (ripped) or by WORD-SIZE convention, 512MB to 2048MB... Just a guess..

I remember having a (J) version of Zelda Phantom hourglass which was 128MB then switched over to the (U) version which was only 64MB.. Development version carts will of course take up more memory because of routines, extra debug protocols, etc that will help them optimize each game for testing. CRUDE WORK..
Once the games are optimized, they can stuff the whole thing into smaller sized memory.

It will all depend on the game's graphics, sound and length, and the abilities of the developer..

(wait.... 3DS emulator FTW!!!!! lol)

Useless, 2GB MAX.
Max (Noun) - The greatest possible quantity or degree.

The maximum doesn't have anything to do with the common amount.

i think 2GB max should be fine especially when psp games are about 1.8GB. Also its a smaller resolution so games like snake eater will be smaller in size. 512mb to 2GB does sound about right.

Im glad they made the screen bigger too. I THINK It's bigger than PSP or relatively close.

Eigther way, I'm glad they didn't keep that tiny DS screen, so we can see epic 3D
....with size.

If that KH game is a remake of the first, it's bound to be at least 3 GB, since that's how large the ISO is on my computer.

Besides, SD and MicroSD cards are growing into the 32 and 64 GB range, so we got nothing to worry about.

No, it's bound to be less than 2GB because that's the max cart size that's going to be available. You're not going to need the DVD resolution cut scenes on there when you're only showing it on a small screen.

True, bujt no one says they can't make larger carts.

Kingdom Hearts is clearly going to be released early in the console's lifespan, when the max cart size is going to be 2GB. Plus it's a remake, they're not just plonking the PS2 iso onto a cart. Are the PSP and DS versions of cross-platform games like FIFA as big as the PS3 and 360 versions? Of course not.

Take Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
PS2 iso: 1.6gig
PSP port: 740 meg.

Slightly OT, but the pictures in the first post look genuinely 3D even now.

Whether it's an illusion or my monitor is particularly good with them, I don't know.

But I'd bet most games will be around 1GB, if not higher. Regarding the 2GB max. at launch comment, I think this is how they'll start off, but as before, I think they will eventually increase in size.

incorrect. the new file extension is .eps, and the rom size will average 512mb, 1gb, 1.5gb and 2 gb cartridges.
And you know this how?

On another note regardless of the game size we always have sdxc to look up to lol

Since the 3DSs' initial cartridges are 2GB (Meaning 256MB games), its highly likely that in 2 years time (after its launch around the world), the cartridges coming would be as much as 8GB (Holding a 1GB game), well seeing how powerful the 3DS has been on its first impressions, I wont be surprised if the cartridges go to say 16GB (in theory its possible, but max would be 8GB probably)
