ROM Hack how exactly DO i cheat...

so i have a cyclods evo, and an EZ3in1+ and i was wondering how to cheat on a gba game im playing on the 3in1's nor or psram. specifacally, i want a way to turn on/off the cheat codes when i boot the game. i found a massive compilation of gba cheats here (in .CHT format) and i downloaded gbaatm. i tried patching the cheats to the rom but nothing happens... im very new to playing my backed up gba games as i just got my 3in1+ two days ago and im completely lost (dont tell me to use the search function or google- i DID) so plz help!

cheats become permanent, so use a backup file.

... ok so two questions, can i use the same save with a rom that has the cheats patched and one without them? and also I SAID I HAVE GBAATM!!! it doesnt seem to do anything (so what am i doing wrong)

If the cheats don't show up then you most likely used the wrong cheat file.

could you maybe tell me what to click on in the gbaatm menu? or direct me to the "right" cheat file?

Would be cool if you could use Cheats on the CycloDS or Acekard 2i like you could in M3 Sakura.

problem free cheating on a GEP is limited to having EZ-Flash V line or the M3 line of products. Everyone else with any other combination is SOL with hard patching roms with cheats.

It is better in this case to have a real GBA flashcart that supports cheats, etc for this purpose.
