How does modern digimon suck so bad?

Things just get way worse after season 2 with too many humans and stuff. Fusion is just crappy.
The first two was good, first season especially and then it sucks. Pokémon was at the constant level while ash keep enslaving wild lives. The games were never as good as Pokémon though, considering Bandai was doing it. Like they just keep adding complicated settings and confusing power level. And Pokémon is following that trend.

I liked Xros Wars. Hunters was not that great though. Only saved by the blatant fanservice in the final episodes.
