Look around you. Pay close attention. Look thoroughly at everyone and everything. Every little creature you see, every big breathing animal, including you, we all are going to die, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Everyone who will ever walk on this Earth is born with a deadline, a time limit, that once you pass it you will expire. If you are lucky enough, little by little, you witness the death of all your loved ones. If you are unlucky, they will mourn your death. When the time comes, all of your accomplishments become worthless. If you live a fulfilling life you may become a Portrait in somebody’s living room. If you become important, they may name a library after you. But that is it. All your thoughts, memories, family, everything will be long gone. What 1921 represents for us is just what 2021 represents for those in 2121. No matter what time you have left, we are just in a blink of an eye for our own demise.
So I kindly ask you, how do we cope with death? What do we do?

Well. That's when being spiritual come in. The problem with kids and people today is that no one believes in anything anymore. If you we're spiritual and believed in something you wouldn't believe your life is nothing and know that you're working under someones light and you wouldn't be afraid of death. It doesn't have to be Christianity, you just have to believe in something. Knowing that your ancestors is watching your life and will be waiting for you in open arms when the time comes. Even if its al BS in the end it wouldn't matter anyways. You lived your life and either it was true or not it will be relieved then and only then.

Next find something that fulfills your life and make a living on it. Do the work. If it games then create a lets play channel or compete in tournaments and leagues. Find your purpose and believe in something.

I'm at work when i read this so i'm typing quick. Sorry for errors. Believe in spirituality and Purpose.

you just have to believe in something.
Why should a person believe in something that in all likelihood isn't true?

Even if its al BS in the end it wouldn't matter anyways. You lived your life and either it was true or not it will be relieved then and only then.
Except if it isn't true, you wasted your short and finite life believing in and acting on nonsense.

The fact that life is finite makes it all the more important for you to enjoy it as much as you can before you die.

Also, just because you're going to die doesn't mean your accomplishments are "worthless" or limited to "becoming a portrait in somebody's living room." You leave a world behind, you know.

Accept it.

Worrying about something we already know is unavoidable just makes us suffer even more about it. We are finite nature beings and there's nothing we can do to change it, that's how we came into existence.
It doesn't mean we have to live, for as long as we do, suffering because we will at some point of the universal line of time, become part of everything and not just of this single living body. We are after all, pure energy and that can't be created or destroyed, but transformed, into so many diferent things that we will become part of something, everywhere.

We already know our fate, but that doesn't mean we must hurry it, because if we got the chance to breath, smile, walk, and love, we should give back at least a small part of that in a conscious way, knowing that by doing it, we will remain in the eternal memories of those that we had the chance to met and enjoy with, to smile, to walk, to talk and love; that is, even in a very small sense, part of our "immortality".

So no hurries, enjoy each and every moment, even if it seems the worst know for sure that a better time will come afterwards and then you will understand why, how and what for, we had to go through all the things we have overcomed, then every hurdle will make sense and we will get to appreciate it and smile.

Let me guess... you're 15 years old and you started to rebel against your highly Christian family?

When I read what you wrote, I can't help but notice little coherence with your ideas.
It seems as if you took hours writing this because you wrote it as you was thinking about this.

The lack if further information, the repetition of the same idea, tells me it's not copied from a different source, but merely your own thoughts.

It lacks punch.
Everything it's expected and quite predictable if I might say.
The main idea ends up in nothing.

I can't debate the idea if it doesn't makes me think.

I have close to zero fear of death. I got really sick when I had covid last year but I wasn't afraid for myself. More for my family and loved ones. If I got cancer I would be fine. If you told me an asteroid was hitting the earth tomorrow, I wouldn't be upset. I'm not reckless and there are things I'd like to do before I die, but on a philosophical level I accept it and I'm okay with it.

My best advice is to live your life in congruence with your personal philosophy, whatever that may be. It could be religion, politics or something completely of your own design. There's no greater peace than when your external actions match who you are inside. The fear of death is largely rooted in uncertainty and in things left undone. Understand yourself and a big part of that fear goes away.

Of course, most people don't know who they are and are afraid to actually look at themselves objectively because it's too big a threat to the ego. So, another thing to keep in mind is that your ego is something to keep in check. Solipsism is the antithesis of the kind of acceptance I'm talking about. Above all, understand yourself.

I’ve accepted that I don’t know what happens after we die and that I should focus on caring about living. I’ve already had a close enough encounter with The Void or at least something I shouldn’t have seen. I am in no hurry to see that shit again and I am good with finding my own value in life. As for the death of others, I just accept whatever belief they have towards death and hope they found what made them happy in life.

Thanks, now I'm depressed.

"When the time comes, all of your accomplishments become worthless" I don't agree with that. Maybe nobody will remember you in 200 years, but the positive effect you have on people causes a ripple effect far into the future - that's what life is all about, spreading joy.

There is a possibility, though admittedly a slim one (maybe less for those born today), I live to see mind uploading or similar, and medical advancements will probably make that ever more likely too (artificial hearts, individually targetted treatments... adding to that lifespan upper limit). I operate under the assumption that in some way something I at least seed (my puny human mind is far less than the AI that will stem from it and all that) will be there to watch the end of the universe (big rip, heat death, something else... all good) and seek to make chances of that more reasonable.
If nothing else though I reckon I have some good mind viruses I made out there; genetics is boring, information is where it is at and there is the philosophical question (though not really much of one from where I sit) of whether if you could cause someone to see the precise combination (or near as does not matter) of images, text and whatever else to basically recreate your thought patterns and enough memories however many years down the line is that a clone? I would go with more of a yes on that and thus aim for that.

People will still die before then, seen several even and have several more on the cusp. Works the same as everyday life though; don't do anything you can't sleep on if you did it and that is about all that is needed.

in the last two years, I've had six people close to me die. Four of those six were family, and the other two were friends. None of them died from COVID, for what it's worth. I guess I just be sad and depressed for a while and try to keep myself distracted.

My brother's death last year hit me the hardest though, and my family is still aching from it... My brother was the glue in our family... The light in the room. He made everyone laugh, and he was very high-energy. I miss him dearly.

While I don't put myself in risky situations I don't care about inevitably dying either. When it happens it will end the trauma I live with constantly.
