How do I wire this up?

This is an idea that I just had... LED flashlight with fan run off of a AA battery, all enclosed in an Altoids Chewing Gum tin.
I can certainly do the flashlight part, hooking up a USB fan to operate at the same time is the harder part.

Would I do it like this?

Is a diode required? Will the output be too low to support both the fan and light at the same time? I'm not that great in electronics, so some help please

it won't work, a single AA battery only puts out 1.5 volts, USB requires 5V.

it could be done by using a voltage converter such as a transformer, but by this post I am guessing that would be too complicated for your skill level.
