I plan on using homebrew only temporarily to edit a save file (Diablo3) and remove homebrew right after, but how do I do that?

I also plan on going online and using my switch as usual after.

I just want to edit my save file, then delete HB right after.

My biggest question is How Do I Delete HB?

You just delete the files on your SD card. Just be aware though, at some point in the future, you will likely be banned, even if you only use Homebrew once. so just make sure that is a chance you are willing to take.

To go back online after using cfw the safest bet is to factory restore to get rid of some errors/ homebrew data...then restore your clean untouched nand (always a possibility that this can soft/brick your switch)

Only then you MIGHT be safe from a ban... but dont count on it, i would expect a ban in the future

Might be a stupjd question, but what happens if I get banned? make a new account? or can I not use the switch at all?

And what if I use homebrew briefly, offline, and deletes all error log afterwards.

not a big deal if you dont play online... a ban is like being stuck on airplane mode forever... although i heard there are two types of bans.

one that blocks any internet connection to the switch servers (so no eshop/updated games legit) but can still update to new fw.

the second one is a complete ban on the console, cant update or do anything that requires online activity.

no one knows yet for sure what gets people banned, it could be a number of things, if its only installing cfw or playing .nsp files... either way, like i said, expect a ban so when in like 3-4 months you get banned to not get disappointed.

enjoy while you still can go online... im currently not banned but dont mind if i am, since i am always in airplane mode anyways

Edit:they ban the nintendo account associated to the switch... so im guessing you can just make another account for an unbanned switch

Your last sentence is not 100% correct @Hugopugo

If you use Homebrew you will most likely get a cert restriction (no Game Updates, no Eshop, no Online Gaming) or a superban (all of the previous restrictions in addition to not beeing able to do anything online related with your switch, including firmware updates).

An Account Ban is most likely to occur when you are cheating in online games by "normal" means, such as using game exploits, manipulating network traffic and so on.

So if you want to modify your Diablo save you should be prepared to get cert restricted.

It should be possible without running CFW by dumping the NAND and editing the NAND contents, no guarantee that that will prevent you from getting banned but at least there shouldn't be any traces.

No you get banned forever, a minimal detection by Nintendo online services can ban you!, already happened to me!.

How exactly do you do that? Is there a guide here? I want to edit my save file as well without cfw if it's possible

No unless you use the modified YouTube .NSP file that removes the online check. Unfortunately that cannot be linked here or even via PM.
