ROM Hack How can I solve thid DQ VIII extra data error

I started DQ8 with the uncensore, orchestra, and undub patch but I cant overwrite the extra data saves so I can start the game. Can anyone help me solve this?

SD cards sometimes become read-only when they start to fail.

Is your SD card otherwise working normally? Can you save in other games? (Do not test this with Pokemon games or Animal Crossing.)

Yes I can save it is working normally

I thought that game required the change locale option in luma or else that error would occur. I'm only remembering something distant in the back of my mind.

I think you maybe on to something. ill try locale option change

I just checked mine. I think it's either the undubbed version or the uncensored one. save worked just fine. I've left that option on since I found that out.
