Hacking homebrew to extract game save?

is there a program to extract a game save from an official game cart to back it up? and use for the r4?

NDS Backup Tool by Rudolph should do what you want. There's also SavSender which could also work.

Only the versions of the NDS Backup Tool that require slot 2 carts require a slot 2 cart. The wifi version does not.

What's cool with these tools is that you safely load saves back to the original cart. I like that because my microSD corrupts from all the homebrew I keep copying over and deleting.

GBAldr does GBA games. I'm not sure if it does saves too. I'm also not sure if it needs an EZ3in1.

Rudolph's GBA Backup Tool is the way to go for GBA saves. It supports all save types (I think, all the main ones at least) and it works from a slot 1 cart. You'll have to search Rudolph's blog if you want it.

Cool. I found it. How well does it work in terms of compatibility?

I don't know, but it seems to be pretty good; I haven't heard of it failing to work with any game. I don't have any retail GBA game paks that use EEPROM of Flash save types, so I can't test it myself.

Thanks Destructo. I'm going to have a trip down GBA memory lane when I have the time. Hopefully I'll have all the save types available for testing. I've been dying to backup my old saves and find a use for offlinelist.
