Homebrew through streetpass

Would there be a way to inject a payload into 3ds from Streetpass? I am not a developer so I do not know if this would be possible or not.

Maybe, but the question would be why ? Assuming you're not on latest update, there's a lot of entry points into a 3DS

There has been a proof of concept. The vulnerability is long patched (which is good, since this could have been abused to brick consoles remote).

Patched in 11.12, to be precise. In fact, two updates were released because the first one reportedly broke Streetpass functionality completely in rare cases.

(I might add that there was also a vulnerability in microSD Management that was patched in 11.8 that never really moved beyond the proof-of-concept phase before it was patched.)

I would say it would be if Nintendo continues to patch other exploits this could be a backup
