Since the DS is not able to fully play .mp4 video files, how about .3gp? There are a lot of mobile websites on the net that allow you to download online videos such as youtube in 3gp format (keep in mind that these sites do work on DSOrganize and Bunjalloo and the videos take a small amount of space).

audio AMR or AAC should be OK, but movie track cannot be better than mpeg2 (or raw). NDS doesn't have enough power to decode H263.
