I'm making a homebrew application, and I made the channel files, and it didn't work. I replaced the dol with a dol I knew worked and it ran fine, I then put back the original dol and it wont recognize it.
So the custom dol won't work, but any other dol works fine? The dol runs fine in dolphin. It's 20mb if that has to do with anything, and I'll upload it here. I also tried rebuilding it a few times in case it got corrupted and every time it just wont work.
Before people call me an idiot:
-The SD card is formatted correctly, since just that specific dol wont work
-It was named boot.dol, the one I uploaded just wasnt, it's still the same dol.
-I tried restarting the wii, restarting the hbc
[edit]
-I also tried the elf version, it didnt work either

Any help is appreciated, thank you

Have you saved the dol in a new folder with the name of your homebrew game/app in root:/apps/ (ex. sd:/apps/) and gave a icon.png (128 px x 48 px) and a meta.xml file in the same directory where is the boot.dol file stored?

An example of a meta.xml file:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<app version="1">
  <name>Your homebrew game or app</name>
  <coder>your name or author's name</coder>
  <version>number of version</version>
  <release_date>YYYYMMDD</release_date>
  <short_description>short description</short_description>
   <long_description>
long description
   </long_description>
   <ahb_access/>
 </app>

For know how to store the required files for a homebrew app, here's a small example of my mod in sd:/apps/fceugx/

Yep, I copy pasted the dol into other working hbc apps. Which then made the once working hbc app no longer work, with the only file changing being the dol.

Sorry for necrobump

I think i found the problem
The Homebrew Channel (HBC) doesn't recognize dols that exceeds its certain "size limit" (i don't know what it is size limit of HBC).
The only thing you can do is making a custom forwarder channel (with custom banner & icon of course) with a forwarder DOL that points to the boot.dol of your homebrew app (ModMii tool by @XFlak can make these) and a base WAD compatible with AHBPROT (you can get one here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/x-flaks-top-wii-channels.205622)

Hope this helps ;)
