Whenever i try and install the hbc i get an error message:

"-1
elf not found
is this a dol file?"

i have a pal wii has anyone encountered this before?
what should i do? i tried other versions of the twilight hack
please help i really want to try the channel

No, it's not a dol file. Make sure you formated your SD card to FAT16, and put boot.elf in the root of your sd card.

open the wad installer and get the wad version. im not gonna tell you where to get it, but i will tell you what site its on: http://gctracker.mine.nu:800/

I would strongly NOT recommend getting the WAD version. That is not how the developers intended it to be installed and it may cause unwanted effects on your Wii system.

It is the loader itself that asks "is this a dol file?" the screen of text that scrolls after you load the twilight hack stops with that question

So it's ok to link to warez sites on gbatemp now?

Please get rid of the questionable link when you quote.

i think i got that error just try delete the file and put it back on the sd card for some reasen that seems to work on mine.

You aren't using a micro sd to sd adapter.... are you? I've had the same problem and figured out I had a crack down the back of my adapter not allowing the wii to read the card, so I switched to a new one

I'm using a micro SD to SD adapter with no problems.

I use a 2gb Micro SD card w/adapter. I've never had any problems with it. Make sure that the SD is formatted to fat16 and is not an sdhc sd card. make sure the file is named correctly also (boot.elf) and is in the root of your memory card. I don't mean to sound rude, I have accidentally added files to my sd card and not realized I didn't add them to the root. Sat there trying it over and over for like 15 minutes til I realized what I did.

Yeah, It took me several tries to set up all my homebrew stuff right.

You guys have valid reasons, but I ask you to boot the wad installer channel WITOUT a memory card inserted. You will get the -1 error. So the wii is clearly not reading the card.

You should read the guidelines too.

P.S. I removed any questionable content from my post when I quoted it. However, someone's been trigger-happy.
