Homebrew Homebrew Browser for more advanced users

The current Homebrew browser doesn't have cIOS's, preloaders, DOP-IOS, and other applications that could ruin your Wii.
My suggestion is to make another Homebrew browser but for the more advanced users.

cIOS is missing because it's mostly a component for piracy tools. Same goes for all the USB loaders. If you're into piracy or backups, don't even bother with wiibrew or HBB when looking for software. Wiibrew is really only good for its technical information.

DOP-IOS and Priiloader would be nice, but are way too prone to bricks. I've had many issues caused by bugs in DOP-IOS (corrupted the shop channel, broken channels after using the syscheck function just to name a few). As for priiloader, people turn up here all the time with wiis that bricked installing priiloader.

I'm not sure if I was clear in my first post but I am suggesting a completely separate application and not an extension on the Homebrew Browser.

Oops. Thought you were suggesting an extension to HBB...which we all know will never happen.

A separate app would be nice, even though it's unlikely to happen. Too bad HBB isn't open source.

homebrew browser has support for repositories.
You have to manually put the new repositories in a text file.
A gui app could be made to input them more easily.
but first people have to host them.

Hosting a repository. It would require know-how, a server, and 24/7 up-time.
They'll often have forums and communities and a hierarchy of moderators and uploaders working beneath them.

It's do-able but it takes time and money, not just to host one, but to get it known and used by others.
And in this case, to make it easy for others to add it to the homebrew browser.

You can't just up and do it,
but it would certainly be easier than creating a whole new HBB.

The point is you shouldn't download any of the "advanced" tools with out reading about it, and if you are already there learning how to use it, you can easily just download it from there. Although it would be nice if you could update it from HBB.

Also, there are plenty of free very basic hosts that you could use to host the files, and any idiot could do it.

Seems that they can only be added by teknecal himself, and not manually.

He also mentions evaluating legitimacy and legality of files.

Maybe an independent app would be better
