Gaming Home Button problem

Hey guys, just having some problems with my Home button. The button sometimes randomly fires off from time to time and now i cant use Emulators such as Gpsp because it interferes with the menus. For e.g

If i load Gpsp and set the psp to HOLD everything works because no buttons can be pressed but the moment i turn it back on you can see the menu flashing rapidly as if the home button is constantly pushed. so the best i can do is load up a GBA rom and leave it on HOLD but whats the point of that?

So im hoping if theres a way to Disable the home button or somehow get around not using Home button as the menu button

Seems like you had the same problem as me. As cleaning it doesnt really do anything to it nor fixes it, I'd suggest you get a new flex cable or as other people call it, the button bar/home bar. Just be sure to buy the one right for your PSP, because the PSP phat cable doesnt work with the slim.

cool, that sounds like a good idea. Any guides out there that shows how to replace the bar?

Yes, but not specifically. If you have a PSP phat, your in luck, since thats probably the easier to do. On the other hand, slims require prying up the LCD, and opening up clamps that hold the LCD, backlight, and the button bar itself. Heres a guide that I found real helpful when I had to replace my button bar.
