Hi guys, a friend's son tried to downgrade his 3DS XL from 10.7 and failed now whenever he turns it on both screens stay black and only the blue power LED turns on. is this fixable?

Take out the SD and turn it on does it power up normally?

No, it still does the same thing.

Take the battery out press power a couple of times put the battery back in with no SD and press power does it turn on?

I haven't tried that, hold on.

it might be a brick, which afaik is only fixable with a hardmod, if a9lh wasn't on it

Nothing btw, I still get the same, both black sceens and power LED on.

no idea, I don't have a hardmod or a9lh and in my case i'm in canada, so nobody would really do it locally anyway

@zerox521 Last thing to try with your battery and SD in and the 3DS off hold L+R+UP+A and press the power button and keep holding L+R+UP+A for roughly 30 seconds does a System Update menu pop up?

for shits and giggles put the aurie folder and the arm9loaderhax.bin on the sd card http://astronautlevel2.github.io/AuReiNand/builds/ARN-034c0f8.zip just maybe(big maybe) u will get lucky and he did a9lh and forgot to put the bin file on

What did you use to downgrade? Specifically, which version of sysupdater were you using? Are you sure you used the correct downgrade pack for that 3DS?

I love how 1 hour and 56 min after this topic was made this is the first time this was suggested

This, there's a reasonable chance it will work and if it does you can unbrick the 3DS.

ONLY if its an Old 3DS and you did NOT downgrade to 2.1.0, try recovery mode this way:

1. Power off your 3DS by holding down the power button.
2. Hold L+R+A+Up.
3. Power on the 3DS.

If it's a New 3ds IT WILL BRICK! If you attempt a downgrade to 2.1.0 IT WILL BRICK!

3. Power on the 3DS.

If it's a New 3ds IT WILL BRICK! If you attempt a downgrade to 2.1.0 IT WILL BRICK!

It's a Old3DS XL not a N3DS and he was just trying to downgrade to set up a CFW on 9.2 not installing A9LH
