I just got a broken DS Lite for $10 and now I want to fix it! I opened it up and put it back to see if it works and it doesn't

. It turns off the green light but nothing else no sound, no nothing. What do I do to fix it?

sorry cant understand this bit

(more specific and clear please)

the display screen might be death.
When I try to turn it on it just has a green light and both screens don't turn on and I don't hear any sound.

If you got it for only 10 dollars it is most likely beyond repair. Your better off just getting a new one. It will take a lot less work, and depending on what repairs need to be made, a lot less money.

If the new DS rumor is true, you may want to hold off on getting a DS.

I got it to fix it. And about the "only 10 dollars", I got a fully working (just opened it up and got a new case) phat for $16 (with the new case).

At least tell me which part it is.

Might be the ribbon cables, check the cables and see if they're clipped in properly.

k I got two used top screens, one of them has the screen cracked but the ribbon cable is fine and the other one has the ribbon cable broken but the screen isn't cracked. Can I somehow take off the ribbon cable and put on the non-cracked one?

Nope, impossible.....I's very tiny, and it impossible to solder it..

You do know that this could very well be a software problem.. aka brick? But i suppose the screens should light up even in a brick mode... Hmm.. Tbh just use it as spares, sell the working and tested parts on ebay you'll make some money from that.
