So my 3DS has custom firmware so I have injected some gba pokemon rom hacked games with the ultimate gba vc injector. Obviously I tried injecting these but they didn't work as expected but the I did research and found it was a save issue and some easy hex editing on the rom before I convert it to a .cia then it would work fine. Suprise, it works fine now. But now I'm in a tricky situation I can't find a solution to, so I'll be selling my 3ds because I'm getting a phone that is pretty powerful and I'll be using a gba emulator on there instead.

I have got the roms working fine in some emulators on my pc but now I can't use the saves, when the emulators read the game save, it just doesn't read and makes it own save and overwrites the original one from the 3ds.

for some extra info because I'm pretty sure it's relevent, the file is 192kb and, when the emulator tries to read it, it's overwriten by an ordinary 128kb save file. (I'm pretty sure those are the sizes, can't be bothered to check because I uninstalled the emulators and got rid of the saves from my pc).

Anyway thanks if anyone can help.

Honestly right now, I'm just booting into godmode9 and clicking on 'sysnand sd' then clicking on 'titles' then doing the a+r button combo to search for titles.
then then I find the desired pokemon title and then click on it then clikc open containing folder, I then back out so I go to its main directory and click on data, then I assume the file inside the data folder is the save file since it is a '.sav' file.

Interesting but try with a save program extractor, it will not take you more than a minute... Try with JKSM: JK´s SaveManager. I remember than i use it to extract the save of Zelda: Minish Cap and continue it on my smartphone and worked well.
Psdt: By the way, i dind´t have mi Gba games on my 3ds via the ultimate Gba virtual console injector... and i didn´t use either a hacked version of the rom so...

I dont think It's the fact that the rom is hack, rom hacks work fine, its the fact that some gba games (mostly pokemon games) dont save properly after being injected via this tool or similar means that convert it into an installable CIAso some simply hex code editing fixes the issue but now my problem is how to use that save in a usable format in emulators.

P.S. I tried checkpoint first and it doesnt display any vc games, I then installed jksm and when i try to launch it i get an error message 'ROSALINA this homebrew exploit does not have support for launching applications under target titles. please use a different exploit'

Okay so
That´s why i use FBI...
I got the cia version and It doesn't seem to do the trick, it works fine with normal games but with vc games, it says 'Error opening save archive!' Ive ried with other vc games that I havent injected and reults are the same.

After opening the game whose save you want to dump, I think there's an agbsave.bin (or somethzing like that) in Sysnand virtual, that save works as is in most emulators (vba-m and mgba should accept it)

Thanks I honestly figured it out a while ago, but thanks anyway, confusingly though, the games require the save type to be flash 128kb to save because then i get the 'm1-ciruit board not installed' error, but the .agbvc.sav is a 64kb save and somehow works in flash 128kb save type. NO IDEA how but I'm not complaining.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
