Help with removing this annoying thing

Hey guys,
I have a question and i was really hoping that you could help me. I noticed that you write here a lot, so i think that someone might have an answer to my question.

well, here is the thing... a couple of days ago a strange add on appeared in my browser (i use Firefox) i really don't know how and why it got there, but I want to remove it... Its called Adware.AddLyrics and it says i can search for lyrics for youtube videos. I don't want it. Does anyone now how to get rid of this thing? I tried to remove it from the add ons list but nothing happened

See if it's installed itself somewhere else too. Open the "add/remove programs" menu and check.
EDIT: You might need an adware remover program to fully remove it.

Wouldn't you just have to go into extensions and turn it off

go into extensions (or use chrome which is much better)

Go into the Mozilla folder in your hard drive and delete the file(s) you want from the extensions folder. If you're in Windows 7 (and I hope you are), then there will be these folders: ProgramData and Program Files.

It turned out that it isn't dangerous, but still it's recommended to be removed. I found a guide that says how to remove it http://www.xp-vista.com/spyware-removal/adware-addlyrics-removal-guide but that wasn't enough.. I also had to download an antimalware tool and an antivirus program (as Veho said).
