Homebrew Help with No$GBA

Whenever I load the game up, everything works fine. However, if I load up my save file for Story Mode, I get a FATAL ERROR, telling me the ROM image crashed.

If I do mission mode, everything works fine, but whenever there's a cutscene, the game hangs. It'll play the cutscene just fine, and even let me skip it, but after that I just get a black screen. The music is still running, but I can't do anything.

Anyone know of any way to fix the settings up to get this to work? I've seen videos of the game using(Well, I would assume they're using) No$GBA. Could it be a problem with the save patch, and the new english patch? I haven't tried a clean ROM, since I don't have one and I can't really DL it atm.
