So I bought a PSP a few days ago.
Planned on getting CFW on it.
I thought my friend had a pandora but he screwed it up so we tried to make one through software (his psp has cfw)
It failed on my psp, but also on his.
Then I came checking on the psp faq of gbatemp and saw that I had a G psp with 4.01.
Is there a was that I can check my motherboard version to see if I really have v3?
If I have, will there ever be a way to get cfw on it? Is there a site where I can check regulary to see if its possible yet?
Thanks in advance.

It's most likely a TA-88v3. THe only possibly way to mod it, would be to solder on some wires to the flash and manually flash on the CFW, but I don't think you'd want to do it.

EDIT: Check if the date code (Located on the sticker underneath the battery) is 8C or above. If it is, its not hackable.

That's not really what I had in mind...
Will I ever be able to mod it using a normal not-taking-apart-my-psp way?

A crap, I have 8c =(

Not until Dark-AleX or someone else figures out a way to get the pandora working on TA-88v3's

to be more precise: not untill they can sign the CFW's boot codes.
good chance they manage to do that in a month or two, tough it could also take a year or two.

Hmm, I think I'm going to play the legal games from my friend...
Problem is that if I return it, and they find a way to mod it, and I buy one, it might be an even newer one!
Damn, why is Sony so irritating.
