You need WinRAR or 7zip to open up the files. They are in a compressed format.

To update, you'll need to get the update file from somewhere for whatever version you want to go to, and the eboot firmware file. So if you want to go to 5.00m33, you'll need the 5.00m33 update and the 5.00 eboot.

war you're an angel, thank you
i've seen all sorts of compression, text files etc but never this

You're very welcome. It seems like there's been a lot of new PSP gamers lately, so I'm a bit more active in this section now. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask them here or PM me.

war i'm really struggling to run the psx games
being thick and all i keep seeing tutorials for popsloader but they give a general information for everyone and all the tools everyone with different firmwares will need it's confusing the crap out of me
could you break it down for dummies

(as in 'put this file here.............' etc)
i got so far as the src file in the root and run it in recovery mode and enabled it but that's all

i'm still running 3.71 m33
(is there any need for me to upgrade to get this running better)
i have the tools to do it just not the brains

i converted the game myself and it's all ready to go (using the multi disk gui)
even sorted the screens, music and video

it boots but hangs with the black screen

It's probably hanging on the black screen because you're not using the right pops firmware. Go to google and search for popsloader installation... you need to find a "popsloader pack" that has all the popsloader firmwares available. I'm sorry I can't be more specific right, now, but I'm already running late for school. You're basically gonna need that firmware pack and you're also gonna get a line of text called popsloader.prx You'll also have to edit your vsh.txt with a line linking to where your popsloader.txt is at.

i was on the wrong firmware so upgraded to 3.71 m33 4

support for multi disc psx games didn't start until this one
