Hello community.

I want to edit the game patch for Pokemon Ultra Sun which is callled Photonic Sun. So, the first thing I did was to merge everything together with my own extracted cia and then edit it in pk3ds. Of course the next thing would be to rebuild the cia afterwards and then simply install it. That worked, but sadly the update (which is required to play the hack) will affect all changed made to the code.bin file which blocks some important changes. My next try was to simply put all the files (romfs and code.bin) on the right sd card folder and use the patching method with layeredfs. That, however, results in an error.

Not really sure what am I doing wrong to be honest. Game patching is enabled, I did import the game seed and the update is also installed.

Do not rebuild a cia file that doesnt work nice.
Extract the .3ds file. Then make a title folder in luma and in that folder a folder with the specific title id your game has.
Then put your garcs in there like RomFS/a/0/1/1 or something. In pk3ds there is a option which shows which garc is what.
and deinstall the update. Also the .code bin needs to be put in the titleid folder near the RomFS folder.
Edit: I first thought its your own rom hack. Then I googled it. Anyway just put the downloaded patch in titleid (it should be RomFS and code.bin) and it should work! like luma/title/titleid/RomFS
