Homebrew Help with Homebrew on 9.4 3dsXL

Hi guys,

I have a old 3DSXL with version 9.4.0-21E and a4GB SDHC card. I mainly want to be able to run GB/GBA games on it. What would be the easiest and best way to install Homebrew on my system? I'm not sure wether to:
1. Downgrade my 9.4 to 9.2 (how, and what are the chances it bricks?)
2. Upgrade to latest version (is there already a working way available for 10.7?)
3. Install Homebrew on 9.4 via another way (how?)

I've searched multiple sites but find it difficult to find the right solution for me, I hope someone can help.. Sorry if this is not in the right section, not sure where to post it.

Go with 1. so you can enjoy kernel access and all the benefits of it such as CFW. Hardbricks from downgrading are very rare nowadays, the pros outweigh the cons.
